Settling into an OG dubstep roll after a massive introductory swell, Here Come the Dark Lights merges low-end intensity with Kuedo-style expansiveness. Grenier impresses and differentiates himself most, however, when he deflates his BPMs even further from drum & bass. DJGs production style is rich and welcoming, sometimes visceral but never anything less than evocative. With forthcoming releases on Tectonic, Photek Productions, Get Darker and Frite Nite with LAs Salva, 2012 looks to be a banner year for Grenier, as he continues work on his debut album.
